The small black objects are arranged in such a way as to suggest the growth of plants in the cracks and gaps of asphalted roads. Both the white powder and the black objects are made of chalk. Existing simultaneously in various states between solidification and dissolution, the chalk is thus present in multiple forms. This makes the material’s formation and transformation visible.
